have repeated a few tips here.
Cleansing Crystals
Before using any crystal it is important that it is cleansed to
remove any vibrations that it may have picked up. Three of the
simplest ways to do this are:
- Water Cleanse
your crystals under running water for at least one minute and set
them in the sun to dry.
- Incense Pass
your crystal through the smoke of an incense or smudge stick.
- Visualisation
Holding the crystal in your hand and blowing on it gently, imagine
that you are clearing all negativity from your crystal.
I
often find that a combination of these is also extremely effective.
How to choose a crystal
When choosing crystals for yourself, pick the one that appeals to
you the most. This may be because of the colour or purely because you
are drawn to it. Whatever the reason, let your intuition guide you to
the stone that is right for you.
When
picking a stone for someone else, hold that person in mind. If you are
unsure of which one to pick, either clear quartz or a rose quartz
makes a wonderful gift.
Colours
The colour of a crystal is very important. It relates to different
things. In crystal healing the colours are associated with Chakras.
The Chakras
- Root or Base
Red. Functions: physical survival, stability, energy and
practicality.
- Spleen or
Sacral Orange. Functions: creativity, feelings, sexual drive,
exploration and pleasure.
- Solar Plexus
Yellow. Functions: sense of identity, self confidence and personal
power.
- Heart Green.
Functions: relationships, personal development, direction and
sharing.
- Throat Blue.
Function: communication, personal expression and information.
- Third Eye
Indigo. Function: understanding, perception, knowledge and mental
powers.
- Crown Purple.
Function: channels universal energy into the system, maintains a
sense of wholeness, stimulates perception, intuition and
inspiration.
